Every price on Waffle Menu Guide is shown as a range, not a single number. That is on purpose. Waffle House prices change from one state to the next, and even between two restaurants in the same city. This page explains where our numbers come from, how often we check them, and what to do if you find one that looks wrong.
Why We Show Price Ranges
There is no single national Waffle House price list. A cheesesteak melt in Atlanta can cost a different amount than the same melt in Dallas or Charlotte. Three things cause most of the difference:
- Location. Rent, wages and local costs are different in every market, and menu prices follow.
- Ownership. Some restaurants are run by the company and some by franchise owners, who can set their own prices.
- Timing. Prices move when costs move. In February 2025, for example, Waffle House added a 50-cent surcharge per egg during the bird flu egg shortage and said it would remove it when prices allowed.
A range tells you what you will most likely pay. A single “official” price, which you will see on many other menu sites, is usually out of date or simply made up.
Where Our Numbers Come From
- Restaurant menus and online ordering. We look up current prices for the same items at sample restaurants in several states, then record the lowest and highest price we find.
- The official Waffle House nutrition guide. All calories and nutrition facts come from the nutrition information Waffle House publishes. We do not estimate calories ourselves.
- Reader reports. Readers send us receipts and menu photos from their local restaurant. We use these to confirm or update a range, never as the only source.
- News coverage. When a chain-wide change happens, such as a surcharge or a new menu item, we confirm it in news reports before we add it.
How Often We Check
We review our main price tables once a month and whenever a reader reports a change. Each table shows the month it was last checked. If a price has not been confirmed recently, we say so instead of guessing.
What We Will Never Do
- We will never show a price we have not seen on a real menu, receipt or ordering page.
- We do not accept payment to feature or rank any menu item.
- We do not let software or AI tools guess prices. Every range is checked by a person.
- We are not connected to Waffle House, Inc. Waffle House® is a registered trademark of its owner, and this site is an independent guide.
Found a Price That Looks Wrong?
Tell us. Send the city and state of the restaurant, the item, the price you paid and the date through our Contact page. A photo of your receipt or the menu board helps a lot. We check each report and update the table, along with its “last checked” date, once it is confirmed.
Who Checks the Prices
Price checks and updates are done by Sarah Mitchell, the editor of Waffle Menu Guide. You can read more about her and why this site exists on our About page.
